As a recent college graduate, Lincoln started a new job at a marketing agency in Grandview, Ohio. Knowing little about the area, the one lunch spot he was familiar with was Jason’s Deli. Christina was the catering manager at that same Jason’s Deli and had a knack for remembering customers’ names and orders. Lincoln was one of these customers (California Club, sometimes no tomato depending on the day, and steamed vegetables as the side). Christina eventually left the deli for her current job in veterinary medicine, and they went their separate ways. Almost three years later, the two reconnected online, remembering each other from Lincoln’s past lunch breaks. The rest was history.
After each going out separately to celebrate the new year, it’s safe to say neither were feeling their best the next morning. Without fail, Christina’s hangover food of choice is Chinese takeout (preferably China Way in the Worthington Mall). Lincoln brought up the idea of meeting there for dinner, and (no surprise) Christina immediately accepted. After a casual meal and great conversation, the two were inseparable.
Three and a half years into dating, Christina and Lincoln took an international vacation they had been talking about since the beginning. Ireland had been at the top of Christina’s bucket list for as long as she could remember, so it was an easy choice. Having subtly hinted at the idea of proposing on this trip months before leaving, Lincoln had no idea the seed he planted in Christina’s head: the wedding planning officially started. Many months before an actual engagement. She started sending him pictures of engagement rings she wanted months (maybe a year or two…) prior to this, so she knew he was at least prepared in that way. Christina told every person with functioning ears that she suspected Lincoln would be proposing on this trip. Boy, would that have been embarrassing if that didn’t happen… On day 4 of their 7-day trip, they decided to drive the Ring of Kerry, a scenic driving route circling the Iveragh Peninsula. Stops included castles, houses, waterfalls, and simply magnificent views (and terrifying roads, but that’s a story for another day). Each stop had several other tourists enjoying the views, so when they found a spot on the side of the road deep in a valley surrounded by sheep with no other people around, they knew it was a perfect stop. After a few minutes of taking in their surroundings, Lincoln got down on one knee, took out Christina’s *dream* ring, and with dozens of sheep as his witness, asked her to be his Pretty Lady forever. It simply couldn’t have been more perfect.
