We met as we stood in the cafeteria line at Allen University in Late August 2006. While browsing the menu, Andrea heard a voice from behind her saying, "I like your hair girl!" Andrea turned to the handsome gentleman and said, "Aw Thanks!" Lincoln said, with enthusiasm, "How you doing?!" Andrea, surprised by his accent, giggled and responded, "I'm fine, where are you from!? He replied, "I'm from South Africa." Before the two knew it, they were eating lunch together and completely lost in conversation! This day would alter their future forever! As the years went by, Lincoln and Andrea's paths crossed less frequently and life carried on in opposite directions for the two. When they would see each other however, there was always a feeling of "what if" but they kept quite about it. Lincoln didn't think Andrea was interested in him however, she always had the feeling of butterflies when in his presence but was too shy to ever say a word. Outside of a few phone calls and Facebook messages, Lincoln and Andrea lost contact for several years. During this time, they both experienced many ups and downs that would steal that light they both possessed when they first met. Although Lincoln and Andrea deeply desired companionship, they had both given up on the idea of true love and lifelong partnership through marriage. One day while browsing Facebook, Lincoln discovered that Andrea had recently undergone orthopedic surgery. He made contact with her and planned to visit. Andrea was delighted to hear from Lincoln, she had thought of him often over the years. On Friday May 26th, the two old friends were reunited for the first time in close to 9 years. For Andrea, those feelings that she'd always had for Lincoln reemerged, but this time she didn't hide them. It turned out that Lincoln's feelings were mutual! Andrea and Lincoln realized that God had greater plans for them than they'd ever imagined and at that point, the two took their first steps toward forever.
