Lin and Eric first met in March 2022 during a church anniversary clean-up at Silicon Valley Christian Assembly. Eric spotted a man wearing a Cal hat (Go Bears!) and, being a proud Berkeley alum, went over to introduce himself. That man turned out to be Mr. Zhu—Lin’s father. But to Eric’s surprise, Mr. Zhu instead gestured towards his daughter, who was the actual Cal alum. Seemingly out of nowhere, Lin appeared. Eric immediately thought she was cute... but also thought she was too tall for him (LOL). Out of his nervousness, Eric swiftly left without even introducing himself. Eight months later, Eric spotted Lin on his Instagram suggested friends list. Remembering the girl from the clean-up (and still thinking she was cute), he decided to roll the dice. He added her and DM’d: “Go Bears!” Lin quickly responded: “Go BEARS!” And the rest is history… From Eric’s perspective, their relationship is a long-awaited answered prayer—God truly makes everything beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). For Lin, their story is a testament to God’s faithful provision and His lavishing of grace upon grace (John 1:16). Throughout their relationship, Lin and Eric have grown together in the context of their church community at SVCA. They’re deeply thankful for the love and support of their friends, church family, parents, and above all, their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After nearly a year of dating, Lin and Eric got engaged at their alma mater, UC Berkeley. 💙🐻💛 Go Bears! They can’t wait to celebrate their big day with you!
