How did we meet?

Gods Timing

It’s kind of crazy when people say “people come in your life when you least expect it” because that is exactly what happened with Linah and I. I remember October of 2016 we were just about to head into the District Playoffs for my High School volleyball team in which Linah’s cousins played for my mom and I’s team. She came to a few practices throughout the week and to be completely honest, I thought she was another High School student, lol. I got a noticfication on my Instagram of a new follower request. When i viewed it the first time I completely ignored it and went about my day. The following day I got another request from the same person so I finally clicked on her profile and saw it was the girl from our practices. After scrolling through her profile, I soon realized she was cousins with Pou and Tutah and that she was OUT of High School and of age, lol. Later that night, I decided to add her on Snapchat and the rest is history. Here we are 3 years later (:

We started off as close friends.

Love has no expectations.

I remember the months leading up to Linah and I becoming a couple. I was just getting out of a 8 year on and off relationship filled with mental, emotional and physical abuse. A relationship that took EVERYTHING out of me. I had gotten to a place in my life just before meeting Linah where I remember praying and asking God if “this was it” if this toxic relationship I was in was all I deserved. ‘Was I worthy?’ was a question I asked frequently. When Linah and I first started talking, we built such a strong friendship right off the bat. We stayed up all night talking about life, family, relationships, and our dreams for the future. To be quite honest, I don’t think either of us really looked at each other in a romantic way at the beginning. For me, I had never explored or thought of myself being with a woman. However, I never had anything against couples of the same sex. You see, I was always raised to fall in love with someone’s heart not love someone based off of their color of skin, size, or gender. I knew very quickly getting to know Linah that I couldn’t see my life without her. Linah helped me out of a very dark place, she helped me start to love myself again. She opened my eyes and helped me realize that I was worthy of so much more than what I was allowing myself to go through. Linah was my absoulute best friend. I think the best relationships start off as friends. We built such a strong foundation and bond that when we decided to take our relationship to the next level, it was effortless.. it’s like it was always meant to be. God answered my prayers when he put Linah in my life, I believe that with my whole heart. She came at a time in my life when I needed her the most and changed my life for the better. God makes no mistakes.
