One Hike, One Pizza, One Forever

Our story began the way so many modern love stories do — online. We were casual social media friends, the kind who occasionally liked each other’s posts but never really spoke. That all changed one ordinary day in November 2020. Out of nowhere, he sent me a Snapchat about Supernatural. As a die-hard fan of the show, I was instantly intrigued (and maybe a little impressed). Someone else liked Supernatural? I had to respond — and I did, excitedly. That one message sparked something unexpected: a conversation that never really stopped. We began texting more and more, finding common ground in shared shows, favorite memes, and late-night chats. Before long, we decided to meet in person. Our first meeting was a hike at Arabia Mountain — scenic, peaceful, and a perfect backdrop for two people trying to see where things might go. A few weeks later, we made it official with a real first date on January 1st, 2021. We went bowling — where we quickly discovered we were both just a bit competitive (okay, maybe more than a bit). After battling it out on the lanes, we grabbed dinner at Mellow Mushroom. That’s where he learned a crucial fact: I love pineapple on pizza — and he absolutely does not. But like a true gentleman (and maybe because he was trying to impress me), he let me pick. I happily ordered my favorite pineapple pie, blissfully unaware that he was secretly suffering through every sweet, tropical bite. Despite the pizza betrayal, that night sealed the deal. We laughed, we bonded, and we found that while we had plenty in common, our differences made us better — a perfect balance. One moment turned into many, and somewhere between Supernatural chats and pineapple pizza, we fell in love. The rest, as they say, is history.
