They say timing is everything- but what if the right person comes along when life isn’t quite ready for it? Maybe that’s what happened to us. Or maybe when two people are meant to find each other, time just finds a way. We met in November 2021, at a little restaurant in Midtown Manhattan called Skorpios. It was one of those cool places you remember- good vibe, good food, and that feeling that something special is in the air. We didn’t know it then, but Skorpios would become more than just where we met. It would become part of our story- the beginning and, as it turns out, the place where everything would come full circle. That night was short but unforgettable. A few words, a smile, and then the fastest goodbye that led to a silence of two years. Life moved on, and so did we- or at least that’s what we thought. Two years passed without a word, no messages, no run-ins, nothing. Just a quiet memory of someone who felt oddly hard to forget. That was September 2023 when a message appeared: “Do you remember me? It’s the girl you met at Skorpios about two years ago.” Of course he remembered. How could he not? Sometimes it’s not the details that stay- it’s the feeling. From that moment, it was like no time had passed at all. We talked for hours, laughed until it hurts, and started to realize that maybe the timing was finally right. What started as friendship quickly grew into something deeper- something that felt like home. Many snowboarding trips and long bike rides through Philly, breakfasts at our favorite café in Dumbo, late-night talks that lasted until morning, and endless laughter that made even ordinary days feel magical. We became each other’s person- someone to dream with, to challenge, to believe in. And then came Greece... Three years after finding our way back to each other, we found ourselves in Mykonos- that beautiful island surrounded by blue skies and sunlit waves. We went to Skorpios, the place that had inspired the name of the restaurant where we first met. The day was warm and golden. Lina was standing there, taking in the view, when she turned around to find Łukasz on one knee- holding a little box and the promise of forever. In that moment, everything came full circle. From one Skorpios to another, from a short hello to a lifetime together. That day, under the Greek sun, our forever began.
