Travel Note
I curated a list with some of our favorite places to eat and drink. Dive bars, regular bars, fancy bars…we’ve got them all! Portland is full of good food, beer, wine and cocktails. There is something for everyone!
Flight
PDX is about a 15-20 minute drive from our house/the venue. It's very close!
House Or Rental
I made a special list showing some of the available houses from 6/10-12 for 2 or more guests. These are homes or ADUs (accessory dwelling units, like a guest house) that I would recommend based on location to the venue as well as walking distance to many restaurants/shopping districts. N Portland or NE Portland are going to be the closest to us/the venue: Albina, Mississippi, Alberta, piedmont, Concordia: these are a few of the neighborhood names. St John's is cute, but a bit farther. The venue is only a 5 minute drive from our house in N Portland (NOPO). There are some hotels near the venue, but they are right next to the highway and you may not get that city feel, and also not in the best of areas...near a walmart and a Lowe's. Stay in an Airbnb and act like a local...walk around the neighborhoods, look at everyone's amazing gardens!

Rental Car
Rental cars can be nice if you are planning a trip to the Gorge or the coast or Mt. Hood. But the city is very walkable, has amazing public transportation (you can take the MAX from the airport), or there is always Lyft/Uber/Rose City Cab. Parking is usually easy to find, except for downtown. But it is definitely just a preference and not necessary to get a rental car during your stay in Portland!
