UPDATE: I created a document with links to the exact wedding location and parking info: https://tinyurl.com/yym58qgq
There will be people at the wedding who are high-risk for covid and we appreciate your help keeping everyone safe. If there is a chance that you've been exposed before the wedding, please don't come! We are planning to have a big party when this is over, and we'll be excited to see you then. For the two weeks before the wedding, we ask that you follow CDC guidelines for covid precautions as much as possible. We are not asking that you totally quarantine (we won't be able to do that ourselves!), we just ask that you do as much as you can leading up to the wedding. For example, we will be limiting outings to the grocery store and being sure to wear a mask anytime we leave the house. We are, however, staying in a hotel, so we won't be totally quarantined.
Feel free to reach out if you'd like to know all of our plans for having a covid wedding. These are a few things that we're doing: -We ask that you wear a mask when not eating. We are providing masks and hand sanitizer. -Please don't hug us. We're bummed that we can't can't hug you all, but we feel that's the safest way to go! -The entire event will be outside. -Each group of guests will have a designated, socially-distanced area to sit. -Cleaning wipes and paper towels will be provided in the bathroom. -Please read the food section below.
Due to covid concerns, we are not serving a meal. We will have very light, individually pre-packaged snacks, water, and wine for a toast. Please feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks if you want to toast with something other than wine! There will be cake! My wonderful friend, Melinda, is baking a cake. It will be sliced and plated ahead of time by someone wearing a mask and gloves. If you feel safe and comfortable eating cake, eat cake! If you don't feel safe and comfortable eating cake, don't eat cake! And don't worry if you forgo cake - that just means we get to eat it for breakfast on Sunday!
There is no rain contingency! Since we're not renting a venue and Fairlington is Fairlington, we don't have anywhere to move the wedding. We have some extra umbrellas, but If it rains, bring an umbrella and boots!
