This place is one of our favorites. You can't go wrong with a margarita and a basket of chips and salsa.

Maria's Mexican Restaurant

Brush up on your California Gold Rush history at Empire Mine State Park. There are a lot of hiking trails around the mine as well.

Empire Mine State Historic Park

Nevada County has no shortage of options for burgers and fries. Jernigan's is a fun place to grab a burger and a local craft beer.

We love the South Yuba. If you have any time this weekend, it is completely worth the drive. There are a few different forks to visit in Penn Valley, CA and Nevada City, CA.
