Lore

As Charlie {Tim's lifelong friend [hi Charlie (we love parentheticals)]} put it, we are so similar "it's scary." Origins: It started with art, technology, and business. Lily asked to interview Tim for a business case she was writing on AI Art. We quickly became best friends; sharing stories about work and leadership experiences, talking about our kids [hi Alex (20:T), Eva (19:T), and Ruby (9:L)], and learning new artistic technologies together. Why Tim fell in love with Lily: First of all, Lily is a genius. She is clever, and witty, and empathetic and such a good conversationalist. I love to build imaginary worlds with her, and explore the real one as well and hear her perspectives. She is beautiful inside and out and cares so deeply for those in her inner circle. I love to see the way her mind works as she creates a beautiful piece of art or music, filled with nuance and layers of meaning. I love how she loves all of our kids, and so many other things. Most of all I love to spend time with her and to have her by my side, whether we are paying a bill, throwing a ball at the dog park, or watching a movie, she makes everything better in every way. Why Lily fell in love with Tim: Our Lives, together: We love playing and creating games {ask us about Dungeons & Players [shout out to Sabre Games (wow we're going to overdo this)]}. We love traveling together. And especially with Ruby, Alex, and Eva. This summer, we all traveled to Iceland, the Czech Republic, and Austria. Tim proposed to Lily in Vienna, with the kids, Tim^2 (Eva's cool boyfriend) and Jason (Tim's awesome nephew, Jakob). We love to laugh. We've laughed a lot while writing this. And, while there's so much more we'd love to share with you, we'd rather do it in person vs. a silly wedding website. So...we hope to see you in Avalon. Also, Why Catalina? Lily grew up in San Diego and Catalina Island has always been one of her favorite places. Its history and lore have always made it seem so magical and Lily was excited to share an experience on Catalina with Tim. Last December, we took a helicopter from Long Beach to Avalon for an overnight trip (ahem, see photo below). We spent a day and a half exploring the island by ghost tour and golf cart....telling stories, jumping the fence to climb the stairs up to Mt. Ada, looking up at the Wrigley Mansion...and then, one off-handed "this would be a lovely place for a wedding" comment later, we knew...#weshouldgetmarriedhere (even though we were hashtag not even engaged yet, so, there's that). But anyway, in case you or your plus one are wondering "why Catalina?" ... Per above.
