Things To Do

Below are some of our favorite places to experience! We wanted to provide some options in addition to the standard excursions and activities in that are more common in Waikiki. If you would like any additional information about these places, please don't hesitate to ask!

Diamond Head Crater Trailhead (Honolulu)

Kapahulu, Honolulu, HI 96815

Reservations are required in advanced for Non-Residents (both for entry and for parking if using the lot). $5 entree fee to the trail and $10 parking. Free Parking can be found further away at Kapiolani Community College or Street Parking along the road.

Hanauma Bay (Honolulu)

7455 Kalanianaole Hwy, Honolulu, HI 96825

Tickets need to be purchased 48 hours in advanced and parking at the visitor center is limited. If Parking is full you can park at the Koko Marina Center and walk up. There is also a shuttle fee from Waikiki that is available. Details provided on the website.

Food and Restaurant Recommendations in Honolulu / Waikiki

Liliha Bakery (multiple Locations) - Great for breakfast / brunch or to pick up pastries Kyung's Seafood - Korean food. Reservations needed, only about 6 tables in the whole restaurant Rainbow Drive Inn (Kapahulu) - Hawaiian Style Plate Lunch Leonard's Malasadas (Kapahulu) Kono's Northshore (Waikiki) - Great place to pick up breakfast burritos Nico's Pier 38 - local fresh fish plates and seafood. Merrimans Honolulu - Nicer restaurant with a great happy hour Monkeypod Waikiki - A more affordable option for Mai Tais and apps overlooking Waikiki Beach

Kualoa Ranch (Kailua/Kaneohe)

Great for ziplining, horseback riding, and ATVs. Be sure to book in advanced.

Kalama Beach Park (Kailua/Kaneohe)

Our favorite beach in Kailua. Parking in the lot is limited, but street parking in the surrounding neighborhood is allowed and recommended. Please be respectful to the residents when parking in the neighborhoods.

Lanikai Pillbox Trail (Kailua/Kaneohe)

265 Kaelepulu Drive, Kailua, HI 96734

Beginner friendly hike on the West side that overlooks Lanikai beach. The entrance is within a residential area so please be mindful. Parking is limited throughout the area, but there is more available street parking near Mic Pac Country Club (just a further walk to the entrance).

Konos Northshore (Kailua) - Great place to pick up breakfast burritos. Nico's Kailua - Fresh fish plates and poke (second location to Nico's Pier 38) Haleiwa Joe's (haiku Gardens) - Nice Sit-Down restaurants for dinner with great food Lanikai Juice - Smoothies and Acai Bowls Kalapawai Cafe & Deli (Locations in Kailua town and Kailua Beach) - Great for food to go. Shark’s Cove (North Shore)

Beautiful reef great for snorkeling located on the North Shore. Free to park and enter. Snorkel rentals can be purchased across the street.

Ke Iki Beach (North Shore)

Haleiwa, HI 96712

Park along Ke Nui which runs parallel to Kam Highway. Check out Ted's Bakery for plate lunch and their famous Chocolate Haupia Pie.

North Shore Stables (North Shore)
