Maui Hawaii was our first big vacation with each other. While there, we fell in love with the island. There is something special about Maui and we wanted to start the rest of our lives in a place that means so much to us. We stayed in Lahaina for a bit and that's also where we went on our Coconut Farm Tour that we still wont shut up about. We can not wait to be back and share this wonderful place with you.
Max was away in Arizona for a friend's bachelor party (hi Cory!) and he organized a massage and a bouquet of roses for Lily. She was thankful and excited, but didn't think too much of it. On Sunday, Lily went to pick Max up from the airport. The second they got home, Max said "Let's go out to dinner, we have to celebrate" as he walked away. Lily followed, asking "celebrate what?". When Lily entered the room, Max was down on one knee. Max then forgot the speech that he was going to say, and Lily's mind was screaming so she wouldn't have remembered it anyway (is there any other way y'all thought it would have gone?). As they both teared up, Lily said yes, and Max let slip that he booked Lily's favorite (and very fancy) French restaurant. They kept that night to themselves and celebrated quietly and elegantly just as they wanted.
How did we meet? Easy, online dating. It's not the most romantic meet-cute. But hey, it works. We started dating February 2020. The world was normal. Our first date was tea at Aroma Cafe in Studio City. Max was a regular and so we got free tea. Lily talked about her strange TSA sunglasses adventure. We quickly made plans for a second date. Lily texted her best friend about how well the date with "the running guy" went. Max kept his phone in a different room to stop him from texting Lily too much. Then the world shut down. Max and Lily had to make a choice. Either part ways after a month or decide to quarantine together. Clearly, we chose to quarantine together. We went straight into wearing pj pants and watching movies on the couch phase of a relationship, and it suited us. Turns out, we really liked spending a lot of time together day in and day out. It made everything a little easier when we were together. Lily's apartment decided to fall apart, so Lily moved into Max's apartment at 6 months in. Which we both agree was crazy. But we thought "why not" and gave it a shot. So it was two people, one cat, and one puppy in a loft/one bedroom apartment in the height of quarantine. And the rest is history! We are so happy with our little family and the home and safety we have created during a global pandemic. While both of the fur babies can be butts, we couldn't see our lives without them. We are so happy and excited to be getting married and to spend our lives together.
