Religious festival in honour of the patron saint of the island. The celebration takes place on the first Sunday in September in Ischia Ponte. Street stalls with local produce, religious procession, fireworks and the procession of illuminated fishing boats carrying statues of San Giovan Giuseppe and the Madonna.

Tucked away nest to the bridge that leads to the Catello Aragonese this family-run bakery & deli is a great place to pick out a freshly baked bread roll and have it filled at the deli with prosciutto, mortadella, mozzarella or whatever takes your fancy. You can enjoy your panino at the foot of the castle.
