A former railroad bridge built in 1888, the Walkway spans 1.26 miles and stretches 212 feet above the majestic Hudson River. It's the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. Enjoy a magnificent birds' eye view of the Hudson, Catskill Mountains and adjacent landscape. It's ideal for walkers, joggers, cyclists and rollerbladers. No skateboards or motorized vehicles are allowed. A small number of bikes are available to rent.
The parking lot is about a 3 minute drive from the Roundhouse. The hike is 3.83 miles with a 1332 ft. elevation gain. The top of the mountain provides an unbeatable 360 degree view as far down as New York City on a clear day.
