Every great love story has an unexpected beginning - and ours started in the aisles of PetSmart. We worked together for years, building a friendship long before realizing it could become more. Jonathan eventually made his move in the most "Jonathan" way possible: by offering to teach Lily how to drive a manual car. Whether this was a smooth plan or just a hopeful feeler remains up to debate, and honestly, we still aren't sure if our first outing officially counted as a date. What we do know is that we spent very little time actually learning to drive manual. Instead, we went to see Mortal Kombat, where Jonathan promptly fell asleep in the theater (a detail Lily will absolutely never let him forget). The day ended with dinner and a walk on the beach - and somewhere between the laughter and the ocean air, something quietly shifted. Just a few weeks later, while handing out watching a movie, Jonathan said "I love you" first - and that's when we both knew this was the real thing. Life didn't waste any time after that. Six months into our relationship, we took our first big trip together to Las Vegas for a friend's wedding... and came home with a very unexpected souvenir. About a month later, we found out we were expecting our greatest adventure yet. We moved in together 3 months before our son was born and welcomed sweet Theodore into our world just a couple of months after our first anniversary - officially turning our love story into a party of three. Jonathan, however, had been playing the long game. Durning Theo's birthday trip to Disney World last summer, with the sky lit up during the Happily Ever After fireworks, Jonathan go down on one knee. What Lily didn't know was that he had been hiding the ring (and somehow keeping the secret) for over a year - which is honestly his most impressive achievement to date. From coworkers, to friends, to slightly confused first-daters, to parents - our story has never followed a straight line. But every twist, turn, and sleepy movie moment led us exactly where we were meant to be. And now, we can't wait to begin our next chapter as the Robinsons.
