It All Started with a Dare It’s not every love story that begins with a prank, but ours certainly did. During our sophomore year of high school, Diego decided to ask Lily to Homecoming as a joke. Lily wasn’t about to let him off the hook that easily, so she gave him one condition: "Only if you buy my ticket." To her surprise (and maybe his!), he actually did. They went to the dance, had the time of their lives, and realized the "joke" was actually the start of something real. Just one month later, Diego asked her out for real, and they've been inseparable ever since. Distance and Dedication When the time came for college, their relationship faced its first big test. While Lily moved away to Madison for undergrad, Diego stayed home to jumpstart his career as an electrician. Despite the distance and the demands of his new job, he never missed a beat—commuting every single weekend just to spend time together. Through the years, they’ve been each other’s biggest cheerleaders. They navigated the challenges of multiple study abroad trips, the transition to a vegan lifestyle, and all the "growing pains" that come with your early twenties. They supported one another through every career move and life hurdle, proving that no matter how much things changed, their partnership remained the constant. Building a Home and a Family Life truly leveled up after graduation. They took the big leap into homeownership and bought their first house together! Shortly after, they added the final piece to their puzzle: their cat, Ash. As the true love of their lives, Ash has made their house feel like a home. Navigating the joys (and the occasional DIY stresses) of being homeowners brought them closer than they ever thought possible. It didn't take long for them to realize that they didn't want to wait another second to make things official. After seven years of growing up together, they are so excited to finally tie the knot this August!
