We met at "The Cabin" in Eagle River Wisconsin. We shared a mutual friend who happened to be my Best Friend and Devin's welding classmate! I've visited the school a few times and had been in the area a few times. It was a nice place, quite, you could see the stars and hear the birds without trying. That being said... there was noise to be made! My friend had reached out inviting me to the cabin for the first time, " You have to be here Thursday night! There's this guy I really think you'll like!" After hearing her description of the plan of events for the night... driving miles.. poor service.. into a cabin in the middle of the woods.. I quickly declined, No thanks I've watched scary Movies! Thankfully she reassured me that calling into work would be worth it, that I had to be there. Thursday night comes around and the nerves go up and before you know it she and I are on our way, twisting and turning about to arrive to THE cabin! Fast forward an hour or so and we're hanging out, waiting for "Dev" to arrive. The admiration his classmates had while explaining to me why this man is so cool and why we're going to just be perfect was genuine and honestly, making me a bit nervous! The front door opens, I turn around from my current conversation with visible anticipation and curiosity. I audibly GASP as this man walks in the door, immediately catching his attention and boy did that boost the ego HAHA! We both knew after the evening concluded that we would be seeing each other again very soon..

We met at The Cabin in Eagle River. The Cabin was a resort cabin that 5 of my classmates at AWI. It quickly became a hang out hub for students after school, we would gather and Cooper and I would cook for the boys whatever venison, turkey, duck, splake, trout Cooper had in his chest freezer at home. The night Lily and I met I had just gotten off a shift at the Nutty Squirrel, my at school job. I had went back to my apartment and began unwinding for the next day of school when I received a call from a classmate to get out to The Cabin ASAP because there was a large gathering taking place to celebrate the up coming Christmas before we all went off to our respective homes to celebrate. When I arrive I see all the clan of welders I had become rather close with, and a new face I had never seen before. A beautiful young woman standing amongst my friends laughing and joking. Her sense of humor, her smile, her laugh was infectious and it made me want to talk to her more. We ended up having a great night with all of our friends and slowly we gravitated towards one of each other. We just clicked and I immediately felt like I had known her for a long time. She quickly became my best friend and a part of my family as I became a part of hers. Since that night at the cabin, it was meant to be.
