Chase and Lily met in the rooms of recovery. Lily would tell you that Chase would watch her dreamily every time she spoke, and Chase would tell you about the time he invited Lily to pick avocados with a headlamp. Despite Lily’s many protestations that she did not want a relationship, Chase won her over and they began dating in April 2023. On their first date, Lily casually mentioned she was planning to go skydiving alone, as none of her friends were interested. Chase WAS interested and Lily pulled out her planner and credit card and booked it immediately. On their second date, they were jumping out of a plane. This set a precedent for their relationship, both around their shared enjoyment of extreme activities, as well as Lily’s role as “the one who schedules things.” They soon fell in love and began embarking on many adventures, such as deep sea fishing, rafting, snowboarding, extreme sledding, snowmobiling, attending sporting events, fly fishing, surfing and camping. Lily and Chase both value their recovery, families and finding joy in life. Lily can be a tad bit “uptight” and Chase, perhaps a little too “go with the flow” and they balance each other well. Lily and Chase have learned to work together, learn from, and enjoy their different approaches to life (except at the airport, that’s serious business and must be treated as such.) Chase and Lily have spent the years growing together, both independently in their recovery and as a couple. They look forward to many years of joy, laughter, extreme adventures and a life lived “happily ever Dicey.”
