Lilly and I serendipitously ended up at the same high school graduation party 7 years ago. She knew everyone at the party, but I had only met a few people before. Knowing Lilly and I were both headed to William Paterson to play soccer in a few weeks, a mutual friend wanted to introduce us “so we both knew someone at school.” I’d like to tell you all that it was a shared love-at-first-sight moment, like in the movies, but I’m pretty sure Lilly wasn’t interested. Actually, I know she wasn’t interested because she never followed me back after I immediately followed her on all of my social media accounts the very next morning… It wasn’t long into our freshman year of college where we became close friends. I have to admit, I was crushing on her from the beginning, but it took many months for me to finally convince her to go on a date with me. In fact, she still insists to this day that our first date wasn’t a real date and we were still just hanging out ‘as just friends’, but it was enough to win her over. Six years later and we’ve finished school, started our careers, enjoyed numerous adventures across the country, and bought a house together. We’re so excited to begin our next chapter and celebrate with everyone at our wedding!
