Cameron has been a long time friend, pretty much my whole life. When he married Charlye (who I’ve also known my whole life), I never thought I’d meet my forever person. Cam told me he and Charlye had bought a home and I should come visit for a house warming party. If you knew me in this part of my life, you knew it wasn’t the time to meet such a special person. When she walked in that back yard things clicked. I knew I was in trouble. I did not think I was ready for something so serious. She was persistent and finally got me to crack. I was scared and knew it was serious. I decided to take the leap and have never looked back.
Fresh parents needing their first 2 hours alone, Dakotah decided to surprise me with a little date. He had been “secretly” planning it with my mom. An hour before he gets home our 2month old Lu began to scream hysterically. There was no settling her. So away we went to the ER where we spent our 4yr anniversary. That was not an easy night, but she ended up being fine with a small scratch in her eye. The next day we decided to go out. We only had 3 hours. Once we’re in the car Dakotah tells me he has to go to work and turn in a report I had never heard him talk about. Saying I was a little irritated was an understatement and I let him know. Little did I know he was getting the ring. While we were at lunch we talked about what a pretty wedding venue it would be. I of course made the comment, “What if you proposed to me right now?” Jokingly, as I had been saying that we needed to wait and we could not afford a ring. Good thing he had already had the ring for 2 years, waiting for the perfect moment. I called him out without even knowing, and when we got up to walk around the property he gave me the biggest surprise of my life. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect moment.
