Located in downtown Sewanee, this is our favorite spot for lunch. The menu changes every week and they focus on local/seasonal ingredients. You can also drop in for one of their delicious pastries or one of their beers on tap.

Sewanee's newest restaurant featuring one of Nashville's most beloved chefs, Julia Sullivan. This is a more upscale option for dinner. Reservations encouraged.

Shenanigans is a Sewanee institution. Ellie and Lillie spent many a night in college enjoying a pitcher of beer with friends here. Also great if you're in the mood for fried pickles, a burger, or other bar food.

Fiery Gizzard is one of the area's most popular hiking destinations, known for its beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes. We have linked to a 3 mile hike, but there is a much more extensive trail network that can be explored if desired.

For those wanting an iconic hike on Sewanee's campus, we recommend starting at the Memorial Cross located at the end of Tennessee Avenue and hiking to Morgan's Steep. This is a difficult 2.4 mile hike (out and back).

Hike: Memorial Cross to Morgan's Steep

Park at the parking lot off Sewanee Highway right near Sewanee's stone gates (precise directions at link below). This is an easy out and back 2.0 mile hike to a beautiful viewpoint at Piney Point.
