Urban greenway lined with food halls, restaurants, bars and parks. Similar (but better than) NYC's Highline, this is the center of social activity on Atlanta's east side and is a great idea for a beautiful morning or afternoon
Once a Sears, the giant building has been converted into a massive foodhall and retail space - similar to (but better than) NYC's Chelsea Market. It's got great stalls for eating and drinking, plus quirky shops and stores. Can be accessed on foot by the Eastside Beltline but has it's own parking lots as well.
The College Football Hall of Fame is super cool if you're into sports. Check out the history of the game, see amazing memorabilia, and even try to kick a field goal on a full-size upright. Ari hit a 20-yard FG in dress-shoes on his first attempt and claims it was the proudest moment of his life.
A fantastic food hall with lots of great choices, and is right on the Beltline. Specific recommendations include: Hop City Superica Little Tart Bakeshop Fred's Meat and Bread Varuni Napoli Yallah
The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world, home to amazing species like whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, and belugas. Advanced ticket purchase is recommended. Can be combined with the World of Coca-Cola and the National Civil Rights Museum, which are both excellent.
The neighborhood where we live, Old Fourth Ward, is full of history and is home to Ebeneezer Baptist Church, MLK's childhood home, and the MLK National Historical Park
A beautiful garden facility, the ABG can be combined with a walk around Piedmont Park for a nice afternoon
In the eclectic neighborhood of Little 5 Points, Porter Beer Bar is consistently rated one of the best beer bars in the world and has been nominated for a James Beard Award. We love this place and went on our first date here.

The resting place of Margaret Mitchell, Bobby Jones, and numerous other famous Georgians, Oakland Cemetery is Atlanta's oldest public park. It's full of history and gardens, sculpture and architecture, ancient oaks and magnolias.
