FAQs

If you happen to have any additional questions, please reach out to the Bride and Groom! We're happy to help!
Question

Why is the wedding on a Thursday?

Answer

We chose a weekday to create the intimate and relaxed celebration that we had envisioned. We know that this may require some guests to take time off work or make scheduling adjustments and we do not take that lightly. Please know that we are so grateful of any efforts to join us in celebrating. It means the world to us!

Question

Is there a formal reception?

Answer

While the goal is to have a bigger and more formal reception sometime down the road, we're opting for something that's a little more "us" for our special day. Dinner together followed by a more relaxed and fun evening is what we found to be an ideal evening for us.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We're aiming for elevated but comfortable. Think something that you would wear to a nice dinner or special event; Dressy but not over formal! No jeans please! :) Mid-October weather could go one of two ways around here! We're hoping for a warmer October evening but prepare for layers just in case!

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Although we wish we could invite everyone, we've kept our guest list intentionally small. If your invitation includes a plus one, they will be listed by name.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Although we adore all of your little ones, our guest list is limited to those specifically named on the invitation, including the kiddos! We appreciate your understanding as we keep the celebration small and meaningful!

Question

will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes! We will have a cash bar available during dinner and the evening celebration. Our venue strictly prohibits outside alcohol on the premises. We kindly ask that you do not bring any outside beverages. Thank you for helping us to respect this guideline and keep the evening flowing smoothly.

Question

How should we plan for transportation?

Answer

Transportation services like Uber and Lyft can be limited in the area. We strongly recommend arranging your transportation plans in advance. If you plan to drink and will not be staying the night on the premises, please designate a driver or coordinate a safe ride ahead of time. We want everyone to celebrate responsibly and safely.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

If you would like to stay nearby on Thursday night after the celebration, feel free to book accommodations at the resort either through Seneca Lake Resorts, or the State Park. There are also hotel options in surrounding areas within 20-25 minutes of the venue! See the travel page for more details.

Question

What will friday look like?

Answer

Depending on the weather in October, the Venue books live music on Fridays at the Vista for the public. Since we'll already be there enjoying the weekend, we would love for anyone who is still in town to come enjoy the live music if they would like to. This is a public event and is completely optional! Just an added bonus of our location if you'd like to keep the celebration going!
