Mark the Date – June 26, 2021

We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting an outdoor celebration on June 26th on the historic grounds of Western Reserve Academy! We can’t think of a better way to mark one year of marriage than to celebrate with our closest friends and family. Please see the "Schedule" tab on this website for more details. Of course this was not what we'd originally planned, and our wedding day wasn't the same without you, but the most important thing to us is the health and safety of our friends and family. To see some photos from the big day, check out the Photos section of this website!

How We Met

We met on the first day of our first year at Kenyon College back in August 2011. At the time, we were just friends (in fact, Lillian tried to set Nick up with her roommate) and had no idea what was in store for us. After two years spent as buddies, Lillian noticed something in Nick at the beginning of their junior year. With the help of some liquid courage, Lillian told Nick that she "had a crush on him" and to let her know if he wanted to "do something about it". Nick maintains that their first date was not a date (it absolutely was), and even told Lillian that she was "doing it wrong" when she brought up first date no-no's like politics and religion. Thankfully, Nick looked past this and we've been together ever since!

The Proposal

June 15, 2018

Months leading up to the proposal, both of us were studying for our graduate school entrance exams. Lillian remembers Nick casually asking if she wanted to get a nice dinner after they both finished their tests to celebrate. Of course, she said that sounded great, and didn't give it much thought. After she finished the LSAT, Lillian was looking forward to their Friday night dinner plans. Like many dinners before, Nick wanted to keep it a surprise, and told Lillian that he was able to get a quick Capitol Dome tour before dinner. He'd been planting the seeds for weeks, so the fact that it landed the same night as the dinner didn't raise any alarm bells. We met at the Capitol for the tour, and climbed about 300 stairs to get to the top of the Dome where a friend offered to take our picture. After a snapshot or two, Nick got down on one knee and Lillian said YES! The surprises didn't end there - Nick also arranged for family and friends from out of town to join us for the weekend celebrations!

The Wedding

July 11, 2020

We were married in a private ceremony with family on July 11th. While this was not the wedding we'd initially planned, we are so grateful for the love and support our families have shown us during this unprecedented time and for making the day so special.
