FAQs

The Stover Mountain farm is owned by Lillian's uncle and aunt, David Govus and Karen Clemens. The driveway is a one-mile long gravel road and is very narrow. Some cars with low clearance can have difficulty. Please drive slowly to ensure no surprise encounters with a vehicle traveling in the other direction. (Or bears!)
Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

Is your dog friendly? Yes! But there are no fences, so if your dog is a runner, it's not advised. Also, there is a small lake named after one of Stover Mountain's most esteemed pups, Louise, so if your dog is a swimmer, maybe keep them leashed during the ceremony.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

Heck yeah! But same with the dogs, there are no fences, so keep that in mind if they're runners! There's also a small lake that has no fences or lifeguards.

Question

Can I bring my cat?

Answer

No.

Question

What are you registered for?

Answer

We know that it's a lot to give up a weekend in terms of both time and expense, and we don't need anything at all. If you're so compelled, please make a donation to the Appalachian Bear Rescue at https://appalachianbearrescue.org/, and that will be gift enough for us!

Question

What's the address of the venue?

Answer

3709 Big Creek Road, Ellijay, GA 30536

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We're working on scheduling a shuttle to and from Ellijay to reduce road traffic. Carpooling is highly recommended.

Question

What about bathrooms?

Answer

We're renting a fully functioning restroom trailer, but there will be no shower facilities for guests who choose to stay on the farm. The lake will probably be a little chilly by then, but if you're so inclined, look out for the snapper turtles.

Question

What about rain?

Answer

Rain or shine, baby! That's what big tents are for. November is historically the dryest month of the year, so hurricane-permitting, we should be good.

Question

What about COVID precautions?

Answer

We will follow the guidance at the time of the wedding, but this will be an outdoor-only event. We know that without vaccines, this wouldn't be possible, and we strongly encourage all of our guests to get vaccinated so we can ensure the health and safety of all of our loved ones as we celebrate. We are both vaccinated, and we can't wait to have all the hugs!

Question

We're camping. When can we get there? And when do we get kicked out?

Answer

Feel free to arrive on Friday if that's easier for you. There will be fully functioning bathrooms available to you, but no showers. We'll be staying at the farm, and we're looking forward to visiting with anyone who stays. The bathrooms get picked up on Monday, so you don't have to go home, but you can't stay there.

Question

I want to camp, but I need some gear...

Answer

No worries. Just shoot us a message, and if we don't have it, we'll know someone who does.

Question

Who is your photographer?

Answer

You'll see Kate Lamb with Wild In Love Photography working her magic. Not only is she an exceptional photographer, she's a wonderful friend to both Karl and Lillian. Check out her work here: https://wildinlovephoto.com/

Question

Who is doing the cake?

Answer

Lisa Pierce Daniel, Lillian's long-time friend, is one of the brilliant stars at Maxie B's in Greensboro, NC. Maxie B's was featured in Southern Living as one of the South's best cakes, and you'll see why, even if you're vegan! Learn more about Maxie B's at their website, https://www.maxieb.com/

Question

Who is doing the bride's hair?

Answer

Caitlin Brennan first cut Lillian's hair in the college dorm bathroom in 1998, and they've been friends ever since. You can catch Caitlin at Crop Hair Salon in Greensboro, NC - https://www.crophairsalon.com/ Karl's on his own for his hair.

Question

Will there be music?

Answer

Lillian's uncles Tom and Jim along with cousin Raymond will be playing the processional and recessional. (And maybe more if we're lucky!) Lillian's best friend Jennifer Furches will be playing a set as well - you can check her out iTunes and Spotify under the moniker "Spring Summer." If you play music, feel free to bring your instrument - you're likely to find friends to play with.
