Be sure to make a pit stop in Poulsbo when you're driving to Port Angeles from the airport! Just off of Highway 3 is the cutest Scandinavian themed town! Visit the Sluy's Bakery for delicious baked goods, and you can even buy fresh lefse here! Some restaurants even serve the famous lutefisk (iykyk). This is a great stopping point if you are driving from the airport to Port Angeles.
Since most of you will be flying across the country to celebrate, we recommend that you make a trip out of it and explore the city of Seattle! There is Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and all the coffee you could dream of. If you're seeing the city before the wedding festivities begin, enjoy a ferry ride (Seattle must-do) to Bainbridge Island and then a quick hour and a half drive to Port Angeles.
Before or after the wedding festivites, be sure to visit Forks, WA! See where the series Twilight was staged, and visit Bella's truck! Forks is a cute tiny town, and only 20 minutes away from the west coast. We definitely recommend spending time at Rialto beach, which is much different from the east coast beaches that we are used to! Other beaches nearby include LaPush beach, Ruby beach and Third beach!
While you're visiting all the way across the country, why not go ahead and visit Canada too?? There is a convenient ferry that goes from Port Angeles (where we will be staying) to Victoria, BC! The ferry is 90 minutes long, and you can either walk on or drive your car on! If you decide to do this on your trip, be sure to bring your passport with you. We have not yet visited Canada, but have heard that The Butchart Gardens are a must-see!
Salt Creek Recreation Area offers a beautiful nature experience just minutes away from the Port Angeles area! Go find some sea urchins in the tide pools and relax by the water!
