We met each other through a mutual friend the summer before college, so we were always hanging out. When I was starting my first semester of college and Joseph was starting his second, he had a class close to my dorm and our paths always seemed to cross all over campus. One day Joseph finally built up the courage to ask me out on a date to one of his fraternity date parties. We talked the entire night by ourselves out in the garage about music, our families, and plans for the future. When he dropped me off back at my dorm I remember him saying "I hope you know this isn't the last time I'm going to see you". A whole two days later, he asked me on our second date and the rest is history.
Joseph told me we were going to Olive Garden and the Zoo Lights for a casual date night. While we were getting ready he helped me pick out a nice outfit which surprised me based off where he said we were going. He took me to down town Toledo and proceeded to pull into a parking garage. I was a little confused because we were no where near the closest Olive Garden. We then get out of the car and Joseph told me he has a surprise for me. He said one of his buddy's recommended we try this place called The Heights. This restaurant was a rooftop bar in downtown Toledo and has really good wood fire pizza. We then finished our food and were about to leave when Joseph asked me if I wanted to check out the balcony and see all the downtown lights and the river as we finished our drinks. We get outside and he starts showing me all the different buildings around us and I turn around and see our waitress holding a camera, I then turn back around and see Joseph on one knee. It was one of the most amazing moments in my entire life and I couldn't believe I finally get to marry my best friend. I truly will never forget this moment and it will always be one of my core memories of our love.
