Etiquette

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The attire is Semi-Formal. Think cocktail dresses, dressy separates, or suits and ties. To lean into our Whimsical Night Garden theme, we encourage you to have fun with your look! Deep jewel tones, floral patterns, velvet textures, or ethereal accessories are all very much welcome. Our celebration will take place [outdoors/on grass/in a garden]. We recommend choosing footwear that won't sink into the earth—block heels, wedges, or dressy flats are your friends! Evenings in the Gorge can get breezy! We recommend bringing a light wrap or jacket that fits the whimsical theme to stay cozy once the sun goes down.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Due to venue capacity, we can only accommodate those guests formally listed on your wedding invitation. If your invitation is addressed to you "and Guest," then yes! Otherwise, we look forward to celebrating with just you.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, to allow all of our guests a night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we have chosen to host an adults-only celebration. We thank you for understanding and hope you can join us for a well-deserved night of intention.

Question

What is a Handfasting?

Answer

We are honored to celebrate our union with a traditional Pagan Handfasting. This is an ancient Celtic ritual where our hands are tied together with cords to symbolize our binding commitment. It is where the phrase "tying the knot" comes from! We invite you to bring your presence and open hearts to this sacred circle.

Question

Venue & Safety (Very Important!)

Answer

Our wedding is being held at the private residence of [Parents' Names] in the beautiful Columbia Gorge. While the views are breathtaking, the terrain is natural and rugged. The property features a 1,000-foot cliffside drop just beyond the ceremony area. For the safety of all our guests, we strictly ask that you do not wander past the marked garden beds or designated pathways. > Safety First: Please help us keep the evening joyful and safe by respecting all boundaries and signage. The cliff edge is extremely dangerous, especially after dark.

Question

Photo Policy

Answer

We invite you to be fully present during our Handfasting ceremony and ask that all phones be put away until the celebration begins.
