Travel Note
- Casinos are farther apart than they appear! Plan ample time to get from one place to another and wear comfortable shoes while walking the strip. - Casinos offer free drinks while you gamble but tips are always appreciated. - Safeguard your stuff! Try not to keep anything in easy to reach pockets, wear your bags across your body, try not to set things down around you. - Casinos crank the AC! While it might be nice and warm outside, prepare a light outer layer to stay warm inside. - Beware of card snappers! Street solicitors on the strip may try to hand you business cards as you walk by. Just keep walking. - Get the best view: The Bellagio fountains show runs for about 5min every 15min. For the best view head across the street to Paris, or if you want to brave the crowd you can walk right up to the fountains edge.
Travel Note
- Here's the low down: almost everything is cheaper downtown. Drinks, table minimums, and hotels are usually significantly less expensive than the strip. - Don't overthink it! DTLV is easy to wander and barhop. - Don't be fooled by penny slots! You'll end up dropping 50 cents to $1 on each spin. - Support local businesses! DTLV and the Arts District are full of unique shops, things are often cheaper, and more unique there. - Street performers: Although many street performers will try to get your attention, and most accept tips, they cannot charge a fee. You are not obligated to pay any amount, even if you watch their whole performance.
Travel Note
- Unlike most cities, in Las Vegas you can carry alcohol and drink it while you walk the strip or DTLV. - Wear sunscreen! Even in the fall we get a lot of sun, don't let a sunburn ruin your trip. - Stay hydrated! - Go green! Cards may come with additional charges you may not notice until later. Going green can keep you from overspending. - Keep an eye on your drinks! - Photograph in case you forget! Snap a pic of things like your room number, parking space, and driver's license just in case!
