Becca and Mike’s story began on September 2, 2015. Becca was sitting on McKeldin Mall at the University of Maryland, studying between classes. A mutual friend Becca knew from before college walked by and asked if she wanted to join him at the McKeldin Library to meet his friend. Little did she know that friend was Mike. Becca agreed and went to the library for the hour between classes. Upon entering, Mike greeted their mutual friend and introduced himself to Becca. It was love at first sight. Instead of studying, Becca and Mike talked the entire time, and Becca asked for Mike’s number and invited him to the Hillel BBQ that evening. Although Mike had no interest in attending, he was interested by Becca and happily agreed. They ended up having dinner at the freshman diner instead. Three weeks after they met, Mike asked Becca to be his girlfriend, but she said “no.” Despite this, they spent the entire semester together, and by the spring semester, they finally made it official. Throughout college, Becca and Mike created many memories together: attending various fraternity and sorority events, exploring DC, visiting each other while studying abroad in Spain, and traveling between Connecticut and the Jersey Shore to see each other’s families. After graduation, both took jobs in NYC and moved there, while living with friends. Since then, they’ve traveled the world and made even more memories. In October 2023, Mike and Becca moved into an apartment together in NYC. On April 6, 2024, as they were planning to go to dinner, their car took an unexpected U-turn on the West Side Highway, leading them to Gansevoort Beach in Manhattan. There, with their close friends and families hiding nearby, Mike asked Becca to spend the rest of their lives together, and they finally became engaged! On their wedding day, they will celebrate ten years of knowing each other and a lifetime to come. They can’t wait to have everyone there to celebrate their love.
