His Side

First comes God, then comes marriage

Lili and I have been friends since 2014. We've seen each other in the many, different moments of our lives. Every Sunday, some Wednesdays, some Bible studies, some planned and some spontaneous friend gatherings. No matter where we were in life, this was certain if I smiled and looked at her, she would smile back effortlessly. We always got along so well. I have always had friends but none like her. In one of the toughest times of my life, she was there. From that moment I had decided to devote my life to God and the well-being of my family. I knew what I needed to do and I didn't want to lose any more time. Lili and I would message as friends here and there and one day the conversation seemed so interesting that I had to see if I could just call her. The conversation lasted so long and it felt like we talked about everything. She is someone that would help me find the secrets and would let God speak to me. Lili was more than what I wanted. She was what I needed. In preparation for what is to come, I am excited to spend my life with someone so beautiful and bright as Lili.

Her Side

When I think about it now, I am blessed enough to get to marry my best friend. God's plans are indeed perfect in all their ways. Even though we first crossed paths as kids at a wedding, I met Juan in my teen years, not knowing that he would be the person that I would spend the rest of my life with. We spent some years serving in church together and other years serving apart, yet through the different stages of our lives when we saw each other, it was always easy to catch up. I took notice of Juan in a time of my life when I was focusing on God's purpose for my life, my education, and my health. I didn't want to get distracted by other things. One day he was like, "Hey, can I call you" and I thought to myself, "why not,” the conversation was so easy and flowed so nicely that I found myself enjoying his company and wanting to hang out more. Juan was like a breath of fresh air. I quickly realized that what we had was a once in a lifetime thing. I realized he cared about me more than just some girl by how he spoke to me, the way he courted me and took care of me. Juan nurtures me to be the best, and most importantly, he leads me to God. I'm so excited to embark on the adventures that God has in store for us!

The Proposal

Juan knew it was Lili he would marry, all he needed was to ask. However, it wasn't as simple because it was an opportunity to show her how much he loved her. Searching for a good enough ring alone took weeks. Plan A was meaningful because he planned to propose at the gazebo lilibeth had been helping to build behind the church his father founded but it didn't seem likely due to the amount of rain that was broadcasted at the time. The amount of mud kicked plan b into motion. Juan was ready for a weekend near a river filled with family and friends. May 29th would have been the day but three days before, there were unforeseen circumstances and Saturday was not possible. Seemed like waiting would be ideal since most locations were also closed or didn't respond on time. That Wednesday some of Juan's family gathered to brainstorm. Juan knew he should have just done the helicopter ride but his family shared precaution measures to take for Plan A. For the next three days, Juan worked hard to build the deck. The first day to lay the leveled deck blocks in the mud. The second day to frame and start building the deck. The third day to finish the deck and build a ditch for the water to run. All while under the rain. Juan was tired and had little to no sleep from how nervously excited he was. Sunday came and early in the morning he laid the stepping stones, wood with taps, and raised the pillars. He wasn't alone that morning, he had family that helped. Later that afternoon more family and friends helped to decorate and finish some adjustments. All that was needed was for Lili to believe there was a picnic and for those who know Lili, she totally did. Lili was completely unaware of Juan's lack of rest but it all paid off. That evening Juan got down one knee and asked the question on May 30th, 2021. Which Lili would gladly respond with a Yes! In celebration of their love, we want you to be a part of their wedding as Juan and Lilibeth say, "I DO."
