If you don't want to stay at any of the recommended hotels feel free to stay anywhere in the first district or the surrounding districts (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th). The 3rd district is where we used to live and closest to airport and airport CAT train.
No. We moved to a not tourist friendly location with no hotels and it wouldn't be fun for you. :) But we are only 10 to 20 minutes from wherever you are staying anywhere in the inner city. So we are still close in proximity and in spirit.

If you can't get here a few days early to see the city and recover from jet lag, try to arrive by Thursday so you have at least one day in Vienna to recover from jet lag and get sleep for the weekend. Friday evening would be the very latest to arrive to Vienna to make the Wedding in Weitra on Saturday. Coffee up!

You can drive to the town of Weitra. Its about 1.5 hours. Maybe carpool? OR Take the train and a short cab or bus: 3+ hours, 30 to 40 Euros. https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Vienna/Weitra This option is much longer but it will get you there. If you dont have a car when you arrive to Weitra, you should stay at the Brauhotel in town which is only a 10 minute walk to the Wedding!
Go to the 'places to stay' and scroll to the bottom. There you will find the 2 hotels in Weitra that we have booked out. Call or email them and tell them you are with the 'Gartner Weinberg Wedding' and don't let them tell you it's completely booked out. It's booked out for you! They get confused some times. :)
