Like any modern day love story, Thomas and Lilian met by chance thru a mutual friend by the name of Tinder. Little did Lilian know her life would change forever when she decided to swipe right for a boy with a Yoda quote. And Thomas, never in a million years did he think a random Saturday night hang out with his cousins would lead to his new hope. After exchanging casual pleasantries via text for a few days, they decided to meet up. Their first date was at the Bite of Seattle - a festival with food, drinks, and live music. The date started at 4PM and lasted 8 hours. "A full work day" as Lilian would say. They drank one too many cider, walked multiple loops around the Seattle center, and talked for hours as if they were old friends. Neither Thomas or Lilian thought July 16, 2016 would be their last first date but it was. It is cheesy but quoting Phoebe from Friends, Lilian found her lobster and Thomas found his.

August 19th 2017, the weekend of Thomas and Lilian's one year anniversary. Thomas told Lilian to dress up for a night of surprises and celebration. The first stop: Seattle center - where it all began. They walked around reminiscing the past year together when they unexpectedly run into their good friends Sebrina and Kevin, who coincidentally were in the area for a "tattoo expo." Sebrina offers, almost practically insisting, on taking a picture of Lilian and Thomas by the Chihuly structure shaped like the piranha plant from Super Mario. They kindly obliged and pose.....when all of a sudden Thomas decides to kneel down to tie his shoe, not one but both of them. A crowd was forming and what felt like an eternity of awkwardness and belly rubbing, Thomas pulled out the ring and popped the question. And of course, Lilian said yes! However, the surprise doesn't end there. Thomas took Lilian to a "surprise" location for dinner. They walked in and to Lilian's surprise, all of Thomas and Lilian's close friends and family were there to celebrate!
