We're Getting Married!

It all started in high school. Steve and Lilian met in 2011 during the first few days of their senior year. Steve was the teaching assistant for Mr. Roth Rossi's first-period class before his own second-period economics class. So when the bell rang on the first day and the class started filling the room, Steve waited to see who he should sit next to. That's when he saw Lilian walk in and noticed an open seat next to her, so Steve decided that was the one! After a few days of chatting in class and during breaks, Steve reached out on Facebook to start a conversation with a "Hey, what's up?" innocently. Now that they were chatting online, their personalities started to shine through. Lilian was silly and quirky, while Steve was hilarious and charming. They both bonded over their great taste in music, video games, and movies. As they spent more time talking, they developed feelings for each other. Steve worked up the courage to buy her flowers and ask her to the Winterball dance—and of course, Lilian said yes! Throughout the rest of their senior year, they stayed close and became really good friends. But with college approaching, the future was uncertain. They took their last photo together during graduation and wished each other the best. The story could have ended there... However, throughout college and early in his career, Steve often thought about Lilian, curious about how she was doing and what she was up to.

In 2022, Steve was in Arizona at his friend Calvin's wedding, and love was definitely in the air. Surrounded by all of his high school buddies and a few whiskey shots in, Steve couldn't help but think about his high school crush, Lilian. It was then that he leaned over to Derrick, Nick, Juan, and Josh and said, "Yo, do y'all remember Lilian Liang? I think I'm gonna hit her up", and he did. From there, Lilian and Steve texted daily for a few weeks because Lilian was too busy with work to hang out in person. But Steve, diligently, kept insisting on hanging out until one night, they actually did. It felt as though it was just yesterday they were hanging out and laughing like in high school. Since then, they’ve been best friends and inseparable. From nightly phone calls and traveling the world together to moving out and building their home, their bond has only grown stronger. Even though time is flying and a lot of years have passed since high school, they are still the same kids who fell in love before they knew what love was. They can honestly say that sitting next to each other in Mr. Roth Rossi's economics class all those years ago was the best decision they made, but soon it will be the second-best decision when they say "I do."
