Lil and Steve met after first spotting each other on a dating website. Steve's tagline was "You out there Bueller?" and Lil, being a fan of the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, was intrigued enough to see what he had to say. His profile was witty, charming and he was of course handsome, so she decided to send him a smiley face. Steve was captivated by her gorgeous smile and quickly responded. They felt an immediate connection and soon had their first date in downtown Madison.

Steve surprised Lil on a cold February day along with the most important people in their lives, their wonderful children. Lil walked into their first date spot, Eno Vino downtown, saw the kids in the lobby which was a total surprise! She still didn't realize what was happening until Steve got down on one knee and the kids held up signs that said "Will you marry me?" It was an unforgettable night with family, great food and excitement about the future.
