Till death do us part

We are so incredibly excited to have you included in one of the most important days of our lives! Dustin and I wouldn’t want to do this without you here! I had a feeling Dustin was going to propose any day. As we all know, social media listens to you, and he was getting quite a few engagement ring advertisements on his facebook. I even joked that I was going to check his recent calls to see if my dad’s name was on the list. Dustin is not great at hiding things, and even showed me the package when the ring arrived in the mail. We were both so excited for the future and spending our lives together, despite being in the early stages of the corona virus pandemic. On April 11th of 2020, we went for a hike at the holtwood dam, one of the first places we ever hungout. We climbed the rocks since the river was low that day, and let me tell you, that was a workout. I had an inkling the ring was in his hoodie pocket, but I pretended to be clueless. I had no idea if he was just holding onto the ring in case the moment happened to arrise that day, or if he truly planned on proposing! We came upon a really beautiful spot on the river, tucked between two large rocks. It felt like a secret hideout, just the two of us, secluded in the middle of the river. I remember the water glistening in the sun, and reflecting up onto the side of the rocks. As I was admiring the view of all that we had just climbed, jumped and walked across, Dustin was behind me. He said the water he was looking at was really cool, and then he said “you know what would be cooler,” as he got down on one knee, “if you spent the rest of your life with me.” I remember laughing at him, as always, and having the biggest smile. I asked him if he was “for real, for real?” What a thing to say when someone is asking you to spend forever with them. To some, this definitley is not a picture perfect proposal, but to us, this was perfect. Our personalities pair flawlessly together and not a day goes by where we do not look back at the day we got engaged and laugh at how goofy we were, and still are together.
