Elijah and I met at The University of Texas at El Paso one Tuesday afternoon. It was a day like any other; I got to the campus library at around 8 am and was studying until noon when I decided to take my lunch break. Given that it was still the first few weeks of the semester and the common area would be incredibly crowded at that hour, I still decided to take my lunch 30 minutes earlier than I had planned. When I got to the common area, it was just as I had predicted: the area was crowded with all the tables already full with people. Slowly, I walked toward the exit on the other side of the room, scanning the area for any empty tables. As I was about to leave, a voice caught my attention. "Ma'am do you need a place to sit?" Little did I know that it would be my future husband inviting me to take a seat at the table he was at. From that moment on we were a part of each other's lives. Though we had met randomly at university, to our surprise we learned that all these years we were closer in proximity to each other than we realized. We went to the same high school, with him being the graduating class below me, as well as at the time working in neighboring restaurants within the same shopping center. God's timing is always perfect and we will forever be grateful that He placed us both at the right place and at the right time when He knew we needed each other most.
