How We Met

First comes love, then comes lots of years then comes marriage

For years, Armand was known as the "cute usher" during many seasons of the Singing Christmas Tree which is a Christmas show that I (Lily) was in for 11 years. We had the opportunity to really get to know each other during a leadership retreat in September of 2013 part of Capital Christian Center's youth group. In December of 2013, Armand finally asked me out on a date with lilies and my favorite candy, Jolly Ranchers. We spent years growing together enduring long-distance during my time at Biola and his time in South Africa, we supported each other during nursing school and OTA school, and now as we leap into adulthood, we are excited to enjoy it all together!

Engagement Story

8.24.20 - A Perfect Surprise

A friend reached out to offer her beautiful photography services as a graduation gift. I found it surprising but I was all for any opportunity to celebrate! Little did I know that Armand had planned to propose to me that day. We took photos in Sutter Street in Folsom then another perfect surprise -- my best friend and Maid of Honor Brooke Fettig walked around the corner! That's when I knew something special was about to happen that day! Sarah said there were two more places to head to and the next was Palladio. I found it a little odd, but hey, she is the photographer and knows what she's doing! She stopped to get gas on the way there -- for a 5 mile ride -- but Brooke played it cool and filled the time well. When we got to Palladio, Sarah said it would be a quick pit stop so I didn't even put on lipgloss! As we walked up I saw a big white arch and although I couldn't see his face from the distance, I knew that this moment is the moment I've been praying for.

Why Roos?

Continuing the Family Name

Armand's maternal side of the family who he is extremely close to, the Roos family, does not have a male to continue the family name. While it's unconventional, we are excited to do life our own way and continue the family name as the Roos family in America. We are elated to become Mr and Mrs Roos!
