Dylan and I met on April 30, 2021, on Anna Maria Island. To be completely honest... when I first met him, I had absolutely no interest in him. Little did I know, he had been stalking my social media for months before we officially met. That night, my friends and I rode around Anna Maria Island in his truck with loud speakers blasting music all over the beach. As the night started to end, I asked if he could take me to my car, which was parked a couple miles down the road. During that short drive, he asked me what felt like a million random questions... What kind of car do I drive? What motor does it have? How fast does it go? I remember thinking to myself, Why is he asking me all of these questions? I honestly thought he was so annoying. A few days later, everything changed. I had a beach chair that belonged to a friend, and she needed it back that day. I was on my way to go side-by-side riding with my family, so I needed someone to hold onto it for her. For some reason, something told me to message Dylan. Mind you... we had barely talked besides his million questions about my car. It was 6:30 in the morning, and I sent him a message. He answered within seconds... From that day on, we never stopped talking. A couple of days later, on May 3, 2021, Dylan asked me to hang out. I tried my hardest to avoid him, but he just would not give up. I finally gave in and agreed to hang out with him. We went on a walk... Funny enough, I later found out he actually hates walks. So apparently he only did that because he wanted to spend time with me. The next day or so, he asked me on our first official date. I remember being so nervous. Of course, Dylan insisted on taking the boat. We went to dinner and then headed out to watch the sunset. Everything was going great until we were sitting in the middle of the mouth of Terra Ceia... and the boat shut off. Little did I know, the boat had been having electrical issues. There we were, stranded in the middle of the water while he kept saying, "Okay... when I say go, press that button!" Somehow, after a lot of trial and error, we finally got it started again. Most people's first dates end with fireworks. Ours ended with us trying not to become a permanent decoration in Terra Ceia. Honestly though, I think that's when I knew we'd make a great team. It only took Dylan one week to ask me to be his girlfriend. Somewhere in those first few days together, he also asked me to prom. Little did I know I would have to figure out how to match a prom dress with a bright neon pineapple suit. Somehow... we pulled it off. Looking back now, I think our relationship has always been the same—completely unexpected, a little chaotic, and always an adventure. What started with me trying to avoid the guy who asked way too many questions turned into finding my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the love of my life. Who would've thought all of this started because I needed someone to hold onto a beach chair? ❤️
