How We Met

Cheesecake and Photography

After about a year of slinging cheesecakes at the "Factory" together, it wasn't until a particular Sunday brunch shift that Leah really started to observe Ryan. They were working alongside each other that day and Leah mentioned to Ryan that a guy at one of her tables wouldn't stop staring at her. Ryan remarked something like, "well I can't blame him, you're a pretty girl" to which Leah just laughed but most definitely noted this compliment. It was a classic grade school exchange that suddenly put Ryan on Leah's radar. Shortly after, at the company picnic, Ryan really made an impression on Leah. He immediately caught her attention with his denim button up shirt and Cannon DSLR camera hanging from his neck. Soon after the picnic, Leah and Ryan found themselves hanging out together again at a Sunset Terrace for a coworkers birthday. In all honesty, they both showed up knowing there was a strong chance they might see each other there. Leah and Ryan spent the entire night engaged in lively conversation with each other. A conversation that tuned everyone and everything else out. They were deeply engrossed in each others passions and interests, finding so many similarities with one another and further giving rise to a growing connection that had no chance of laying off. In the days that would follow, Leah and Ryan would find themselves irresistibly in contact. Their exchanges would come to dominate everything in their lives, consuming them entirely. The world seemed brighter, exciting and hopeful. It would only take a day trip to the Getty Villa and a lecture on photography to push these two together against their current circumstances. When Ryan met Leah's daughter, Ava-Ryan he fell completely in love, the kind of love that is meant to last forever.

Better Together

Like Forever Ever

From those first days of sparks and flames to the moments and memories that built their relationship, Ryan and Leah have made the most of the past seven years. After a year of dating, they moved in to an apartment together. That apartment would become their sanctuary, the foundation for their love. So many special times spent making a home; sharing delicious meals, hosting friends and family, reaching academic goals, raising little miss Ava-Ryan. All that love growing and more love than they could imagine with the birth of their second daughter, Lyla. While that apartment meant so much to them, they made the decision to move out of their beloved rental and in with Leah's parent's in hopes of saving money for their own house someday. Just a month in to living with the parents Ryan took Leah to the Getty Villa to celebrate their 6th anniversary. To her surprise he proposed to her with her mom's vintage ring. Of course she said yes! Now they find themselves passionately preparing for one unforgettable milestone. They are so incredibly excited to celebrate their love with those closest to them in the most romantic way they can imagine. Here's to forever!
