Luke and I once attempted to go stargazing in the middle of the night out in the country. There was no moon that night which allowed the perfect setting for observing the meteor shower. Unfortunately, creepy animal noises freaked me out and we didn't last even 30 minutes out in nature under the stars. For our wedding, I'd like to recreate a safe "under-the-stars" experience that hopefully will last longer than half an hour. ~ Jackie
I had everything planned - all the details. On Monday, I would take Jackie on a hike to Tallulah Gorge and ask her to marry me. Our first date was here, there is a waterfall at the bottom which we had yet to view, the dogs could accompanying us. I was certainly more excited than nervous. Unfortunately, Jackie didn't want to go to Tallulah again. I finally convinced her to make the trip, but it rained the night before causing the waterfall area to close for safety reasons. To save the proposal, I googled waterfall hikes the morning of our departure and we settled on Panther Creek Falls. The treacherous 3+ mile hike-in allowed for satisfaction of the view magnitudes greater than what we would've experienced at Tallulah; and the same tedious 3+ mile hike-out gave us ample time to savor the moment. She truly loved and admired the cartoon as well as the pens I presented to her. We had fun. The proposal was a success. ~ Luke
