Bride
You know her.
Groom
You know him.
Maid of Honor
Friend of the bride. Kelsey and Liesl met when they were both in kindergarten, after Liesl threw up on the stage at their rehearsal for the parent show. Somehow Kelsey didn't let this contaminate her opinion of Liesl, and they've been best friends ever since. Kelsey used to absolutely kick Liesl's butt in Super Mario Kart, and Liesl used to constantly correct Kelsey's spelling, but they are still maids of honor in each others' weddings this year.
Best Man
Brother to the bride, roommate to the groom. All-around "neat guy." Dieter has been related to Liesl for all his life. Despite growing up together, they're still 'cool' with one another. Bert met Dieter when he started dating Liesl and, thankfully, the two of them got along swimmingly. It may bother Liesl to hear this, but the two of them share many similar interests. The two have been good friends and roommates for the last several years.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride. Rebecca and Liesl met when they were in fourth grade, when Rebecca's family moved to the neighborhood. A neighbor orchestrated a meeting between the girls, and Rebecca was quickly adopted into the friend group. Rebecca and Liesl have a lot of good memories belting Good Charlotte and Avril Lavigne at the top of their lungs in Rebecca's bedroom.
Groomsman
Brother to the groom. Bert has known Clay for most of his life. As you can tell from his headshot here, they are very different people, though they certainly share some physical similarities. Clay graduated from CNU this spring with a BSBA in Finance, and he is looking forward to being a brother-in-law to such a big family.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride. Steph and Liesl met at Spring into Maroon at Roanoke College before they became students. They sang together in the Roanoke College Choir and the mixed a capella group, "The RoaNotes," and were roommates in their sophomore and senior years. Steph and Liesl once got in trouble together for singing along during a theatrical showing of "The Lion King."
Groomsman
Cousin to the groom. Born merely two months after Bert, Zach was one of Bert's closest friends growing up. Bert moved around quite a lot with his dad in the Marine Corps, so it was good to have somebody in his life that was consistently his friend. Bert was a groomsman in Zach's wedding just a few years ago and they continue their adventures in life together.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride. Marg and Liesl met as freshmen at Roanoke College, through mutual friends, and were roommates their senior year, along with Steph. Some of their fondest memories together include procrastinating studying for finals by looking up old Internet memes, and dealing with a huge leak in their ceiling, otherwise known as #RoanokeFalling.
Groomsman
Friend of the groom. Jordan and Bert met in high school and quickly found common ground with one another's interests. Whether it was theater, gaming, or Dungeons and Dragons (which Jordan introduced Bert to), they hit it off and became close friends. After college, they lived together with Taylor for a year before Bert moved up to Centreville. Bert also once saved Jordan's life from an avocado.
Bridesmaid
Friend of the bride. Victoria and Liesl met as freshmen at Roanoke College, through mutual friends, and sang together in the mixed a capella group, "The RoaNotes." Liesl and Victoria bonded over their love of finding arcane harmonies to their favorite songs. Victoria would have also lived with Steph, Marg, and Liesl in their senior year had she not gone to study abroad, but they remained close regardless.
Groomsman
Friend of the groom. Like Jordan, Taylor met Bert in high school and they were in the same friend group. Having the strength of ten men, Taylor brought the average weight-lifting capacity of the trio up several-fold. Taylor also lived with Jordan and Bert in Fredericksburg, though he has since moved up to Fairfax and become a part of Gainesville UMC where Bert works. He can carry Bert both physically and in games.
Parents of the Bride
David is Liesl's father, and Tara is Liesl's stepmother. When Liesl was growing up, David would make her stuffed animals dance and sing in funny voices. Tara is always ready with a smile and a glass of wine when needed. Tara "e" David, as they're called, got married in 2014, and Liesl was her father's "best man." This entire endeavor would be impossible without them.
Parents of the Groom
These are Bert's parents. When Bert was growing up, they were always there for him whenever he needed them most. Bert wouldn't be the man he is today without Ralph's storytelling ability or Cindy's quick wit. Some of his fondest memories growing up were playing Jeopardy over dinner as a family and listening to Ralph's childhood stories at family reunions.
