Courtney's long-time dream had been to attend NFR in person (typically held in Las Vegas). Due to...COVID, you guessed it, NFR was moved in 2020 to Texas instead of Nevada. After months of eagerly planning our trip to Texas with a group of friends, we were packed and ready to hit the road. Before going, our friends had asked Courtney to go get her nails done. At first thought, she said yes. But then she wondered 'Are they trying to tell me Brian is going to propose??' <--Dramatic, but true. Courtney immediately texted Brian and tried getting him to say if he'd recently looked at engagement rings because she had SEVERAL dreams over a 3 week period before NFR where Brian proposed on the trip. Well, naturally, Brian alluded in no way to the fact that he'd considered proposing. He event went so far as to say "I wonder how fast they could get a ring in? I guess I could order one today"..... 2 days before we were supposed to leave. Knowing now that he wasn't going to propose, Courtney opted to paint her own nails no matter how persistent her friends were in their asking. Well.... it happened. In front of our best friends and thousands of others. Walking across the red carpet for a picture outside the arena, Brian got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage! Before they could even get back to Nebraska, the proposal had been seen by friends and family who were tuned in to NFR on TV that night and saw the proposal as it happened. Forgiveness was given to Brian for omitting facts about ring shopping.. mostly because every dream of Courtney's came true that day as she and Brian attended NFR as an engaged couple!!
