Their story is one of hardship, triumph, but most importantly love. At the beginning of the pandemic, living only five minutes apart they promptly fell hard and fast for each other other. Two months into dating they knew they had found the one, and got each other's initials tattooed on opposite fingers. It was quickly decided that any distance, even two miles, was too far to be separated, so Elliot and Hannah joined households. Thankfully, Pi and Charcoal (the family pets) felt the love too. Living together was a fairytale, despite the constant struggles brought forth by Covid. There is a famous quote attributed to Thomas Fuller, "Health is not valued till sickness comes." Elliot has always been very conscious of health and wellness. He has always been active in sports, and used to compete on the Virginia Tech triathlon team (where he graduated with two degrees in math & biomedical engineering and mechanics). He has continues to be a successful competitive powerlifter. Hannah had a different journey. Since her teen years, she was constantly ill and in and out of the hospital. In 2020 she had just finished her certification as a Dialysis Technician when she was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and a brain tumor that while benign, was causing seizures and a brain bleed. This came as a shock but ultimately a relief to both that treatment could begin. Elliot was there every step of this extremely tumultuous journey. Hannah attributes her strength and ability to move forward to his constant support. In December of 2021 to celebrate Hannah's partial recovery the pair took a trip to Boothbay Harbor in Maine. The Lief family's childhood escape, and where her grandmother and uncle currently still reside. Elliot knowing that would be the location to make a perfect memory, asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. She eagerly accepted. Both cannot wait to start the rest of their journey together as a married couple.
