We first met through volunteering with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. At first, we were acquaintances who would chit-chat at the bar after a day of volunteering. As we got to know each other, we realized that we had many things in common. From camping, hiking, reading, and swinging hammers, our friendship grew and deepened. While catching up on each other's life stories, we realized we had both served in Americorps for Habitat in the same year, 2004-2005 (Mark in Atlanta, Mary in Montgomery County, PA). We kept finding more and more ways to spend time together through a shared love of the outdoors, church, and travel. We have been together ever since. After 15 months of spending almost 100% of our time together during the pandemic, we decided that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We want to make it official, get married, celebrate with friends and family while looking forward to a lifetime of camping, building, and volunteering.
