What is the Attire?

We’ve decided to have a Formal/black tie attire. Refrain from wearing white, cream, tan, champagne, or very pale colors Thank you!

What kind of wedding can I expect?

Answer

We are having a mixed Serbian and Jewish-American wedding! We will have all kinds of music, dances and festivities to celebrate us and our cultures.

What is Skup Svatova or “Buying of the Bride”?

Answer

The Skup Svatova is the gathering at the Bride’s family home where all the fun Serbian wedding traditions kick off! Jeff will try to “buy the bride” from her family after he proves that he is fit to be a husband. This includes shooting the apple, bribing the family, and claiming his bride!

How can I get to the Skup Svatova before the ceremony?

Answer

We only have transportation for guests staying at hotels downtown to get to and from the ceremony. If you’d like to attend the festivities at the Ljutic house, you will need to find your own way (uber, lyft, taxi etc.) to the Ljutic house and the church. Transportation will be available to transport guests to the reception from the church if you are staying in the hotels downtown. See Schedule tab for information on time and locations.

Parking for the Ceremony?

Answer

The shuttle busses will be parked in front of the church. All guests that are driving will have street parking available and there will be parking in the Roosevelt High School parking lot one block away from the church.

Transportation if staying at a different hotel other than the blocks?

Answer

If you are a guest staying downtown in a hotel outside of our blocks, please reach out to 773-639-8920 and let us know where you will be staying. You will have to meet at the Drake pick up location for the Shuttle to the ceremony.

Parking for the reception?

Answer

Overnight valet parking is $82 and non-overnight parking is at the special event rate of $35 until 2am of the day of the wedding at The Drake. There is also a self park option in the 900 N Michigan building at $56 for overnight. We expect anyone driving to drink responsibly and drive sober

Are kids allowed at the wedding?

Answer

We have decided not to have children under the age of 13 at the wedding. We want everyone to have a fun night off!
