Question

🏨 Where do I stay?

Answer

We’ve picked our hotel for the trip—TURIM Marquês Hotel in central Lisbon! You can find more details and a link to this hotel under "Hotels & Getting Around" section, just for your reference. When booking your own accommodation, we recommend choosing based on what kind of experience you want in Lisbon. If you're looking to be in the heart of the action, Baixa and Chiado are great choices, as they’re close to everything and the shuttle pick-up/drop-off for the festivities. If you’re after a quieter vibe with beach access, Cascais (30 minutes by car from Lisbon) might be more your style. While we don’t have specific hotel recommendations for Cascais, it’s a beautiful and relaxing area by the coast. Whatever you choose, make sure it fits the vibe you’re after for your Lisbon adventure!

Question

✈️ When should I book my flight?

Answer

We recommend booking your flights as soon as possible! The nearest airport is in Lisbon, Humberto Delgado Airport, with the airport code (LIS). TAP Air Portugal offers direct flights to Lisbon (LIS) from both Stockholm (ARN) and Washington DC (IAD) daily. Other carriers flying to Lisbon include Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Air Canada, Lufthansa, SAS, and Norwegian Airlines. If booked in advance, the cost for a non-stop round-trip flight is typically $500-$800 from the US and 3,000-5,000 SEK from Sweden in July. The sooner you book, the better! We recommend using the HOPPER app to track flight prices for specific dates. Additionally, check sites like Kayak, Skyscanner, and Google Flights for the best deals.

Question

🛂 Do I need a passport and/or Visa?

Answer

Yes, you’ll need your passport for this trip! Please make sure your documents are up to date. Check this link to see if you require a visa based on your citizenship: https://shorturl.at/2ik3X EDIT: The implementation of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) has been postponed until late 2026. Consequently, American visitors planning to travel to Portugal do not need to apply for travel authorization at this time.

Question

🪩 Will there be any other events to attend during the wedding weekdays?

Answer

Yes! On the evening of Wednesday, July 16th, we’ll host a Welcome BBQ Dinner (optional, but please RSVP). Thursday, July 17th is the wedding day, and the celebration will continue well into the night.

Question

💃 🕺What is the dresscode?

Answer

Welcome BBQ Dinner: Ladies: Sundresses, floral prints, little black dresses (LBD). Men: Suits in lighter hues. Wedding Day: Ladies: Pastel or vibrant-colored cocktail dresses. Please refrain from wearing black dresses. Men: Tux, suit, linnen suits or blazer. Please refrain from wearing jeans. *For the ladies who want to wear heels—please note that the ceremony and reception will be held on grass, and there are cobblestones in the venue, so block heels are strongly recommended.

Question

👫 Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unless you see a plus one when you RSVP, then the answer is no. We are trying to keep our special event intimate.

Question

🚌 How can we get to and from the venue?

Answer

On the event days, shuttles will depart from Parque Eduardo VII, 1070-051 Lissabon, Portugal. All the recommended hotels listed under the "Hotels & Getting around" tab are within a short walk from this pick-up/drop-off spot. As we get closer to the events, we’ll share more details about the shuttle schedule.

Question

👶 Are children allowed?

Answer

We understand that many of you will be traveling a long way and may want to turn this trip into a family vacation. The wedding venue can accommodate babysitters for small children if needed, but space is limited. If you have a child under 4 years old, please notify us so we can arrange accordingly!

Question

📱 Will my phone work in Portugal?

Answer

It depends on your phone plan and provider: Guests from European countries with an EU phone plan: Good news! You can use your regular phone plan in Portugal at no extra cost thanks to EU roaming regulations. Guests from the USA: Most U.S. phone providers (like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) offer international add-ons that allow you to use your phone abroad for a fixed cost and limited time. We highly recommend checking with your provider before traveling to avoid unexpected charges. Guests from other countries and with phones that support eSIM: Consider using international eSIM providers like Airalo or Saily for affordable mobile data without needing a physical SIM card. Please check your plan in advance so you can stay connected during your trip—especially for wedding updates and directions!

Question

🥘 I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know about any dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

Question

🌡️ What is the weather like?

Answer

In mid-July, Portugal typically enjoys warm, sunny weather, with daytime temperatures ranging from 26–30°C (78–86°F). The evenings are comfortably mild, around 17–20°C (63–68°F). Rain is rare at this time, so you can expect clear skies and lots of sunshine. We recommend bringing light, breathable clothing, sunscreen, and a hat for daytime, and a light layer for the evenings. The wedding festivities will be held outdoors.

Question

🧳 What should I pack?

Answer

Comfortable shoes! Portugal is accessible for all ages, but the streets are often made of fragile stone. Consider also bringing a travel adapter to make sure your phones stay fully charged. Finally, don't forget those sunglasses!
