We met up at a bar called Ferndale Project. Justin was disappointed that Therese didn't bring her dog Dolly, but sparks flew nonetheless. After a couple of drinks, the conversation was going well enough that Justin pretended to be totally on board when Therese suggested splitting a fried tofu sandwich for a snack. We parted ways with a kiss that apparently came as a surprise to both of us since we discovered several months later that we both firmly believed the other had initiated it (it was Justin, though).

Justin proposed in a small cave in Conkle's Hollow Nature Preserve at Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio. Therese was thrilled, and Dolly - whom Therese was wearing in a front pack at the time - was indifferent. With no cell service for the rest of the hike, the first person to officially hear of Therese and Justin's engagement was a nice woman who asked us to take a picture of her and her husband. After finishing the hike, cleaning up, and sending lots of texts, the two of us celebrated at the Hocking Hills Winery!
