On Spencer’s first day at Infoverity, Libby as a summer intern, greeted him at the door. Thanks to open office seating, Spencer claimed the desk right next to hers. Throughout the summer of 2021, Spencer and Libby became good friends, chatting at work and grabbing the occasional drink together with their friend Matthew. They remained friends throughout Libby’s senior year at Ohio State, and were happy to see the seating arrangements were still the same when Libby joined Infoverity full time the following summer.

During the summer of 2022, Libby was training for the Columbus Half Marathon in the Fall. Spencer (ever the gentleman) offered to join her on some runs. After many miles and long post-run chats, Spencer finally asked Libby on a date... only to learn she was seeing someone else at the time. They stayed friends and even continued running together. Libby's other relationship ended about a month later, but still she wasn't quite sure if she wanted to start dating her coworker.

The night before the half marathon, Libby hosted a pasta party with family and friends. Spencer showed up with smoothies, Libby’s favorite work snack, and chatted up her parents all night. He won over both her parents and Libby herself. It didn’t take long after that for her to reconsider his offer.

The following Friday, Libby invited Spencer for a run after work. After jogging for only a few minutes through Donegal Cliffs Park, they stopped at a stream to skip rocks. There, Libby asked that if Spencer's offer “still stands", she would love to go on a date. Spencer said, “Let’s do it.” That same night they went to Brio in Easton for dinner and Jeni’s Ice Cream after.

Their first months were filled with new restaurants, meeting each other’s friends, and secretly dating while sitting less than ten feet apart at work. Spencer caught mono that winter, forcing them to have a lot of cozy nights in, which to this day remain some of their favorite memories together.

In July 2024, they officially became roommates. They started renting an apartment together in Westerville and didn’t look back.

On March 29, 2025, Libby thought she was kicking off a girls’ weekend. Instead, Spencer drove her to Donegal Cliffs Park, the same spot they ran before their first date. There, he got down on one knee. After she said yes, Spencer surprised her with a celebration full of family and friends at Flint Station Tap Room.

Libby and Spencer love traveling together. Some highlights include: • Family trips to Marco Island (including one two-week extended stay due to flight cancellations) • The couple's first solo trip together in North Carolina and Tennessee • Visiting their friend Joe while he was living in San Diego, CA • Celebrating their friend Evan's wedding in Phoenix, LA, and hanging out at a large AirBnb • Traveling abroad to Austria and Germany to visit Libby's cousins • Exploring the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park with friends
