Question

Is this a traditional wedding?

Answer

Not exactly! This is our long overdue post-elopement reception to celebrate with all of our friends and family. Expect plenty of drinks, a delicious buffet, lots of mingling, and more. While the vibe is more relaxed in spirit, we do ask that you RSVP (as you would for a traditional wedding) so our amazing venue can be fully prepared for you. Please RSVP by June 25.

Can I bring a plus one? Are kids welcome?

Answer

If your invitation says “[Your Name] & Guest,” you’re welcome to bring a plus one. If you’re unsure, the RSVP form will clarify. Due to the nature and size of our venue, we are asking that kids stay home — unless you are traveling more than 3,500 miles ;)

Where is the reception and how should I get there?

Answer

Our reception will take place on the second floor of The Press Room, a bar, restaurant, and music venue in downtown Portsmouth. Please note: the venue does not have elevator access. For details on getting around, including rideshare and parking, please visit the Travel section of our website.

What should I know about the afterparty?

Answer

After the reception, join us at the Portsmouth Gaslight Co. nightclub (third floor)! It’s just a 3-minute walk from the reception and a 5-minute walk from the Hilton Garden Inn. We’ll have a small section reserved, but the space is open to the public. Come hang, grab a drink, and keep the night going. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Note: Our group will have a designated entrance and wristbands to access the reserved area. Details to come.

How do I get to the Farewell Brunch?

Answer

We are hosting a farewell brunch on Sunday, July 26, starting at 10:30 AM. Weather permitting, it will take place on Four Tree Island in Portsmouth. Don’t worry, no sailing necessary ;) Enter “Four Tree Island Parking Lot” into your GPS or Uber, and it’s just a one-minute walk to the gazebo where we’ll be gathering. It’s also just a lovely 20-minute walk from the Hilton Garden Inn.

Will the reception be outdoors? What is the dress attire?

Answer

The reception and afterparty will be held indoors. The farewell brunch will be outdoors, with a backup location in case of rain. For the reception, come as you are — just a little dressed up! Brunch is completely casual.

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have a group rate available at the Hilton Garden Inn Portsmouth Downtown — the deadline to book is June 24. Additionally, the area has many hotels and Airbnbs that can accommodate any budget.

Are you COVID-cautious?

Answer

We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe while celebrating with us! If you’re feeling under the weather, we ask that you take a COVID test and follow CDC guidelines. We’ll have masks and hand sanitizer available for anyone who wants them, and we kindly ask everyone to be mindful of guests who may be at higher risk.
